Preparing your will in 7 easy steps

can be a daunting and serious task, but that doesn't mean you can't inject some humour into the process. Here are some tips for preparing your will with a bit of levity:

  1. Determine your assets: Make sure to include everything in your asset list, even if it's not valuable. You never know, that collection of 1980s action figures might be worth a fortune one day!

  2. Decide on beneficiaries: Don't be afraid to have a little fun with this one. You could have a "survival of the fittest" clause, where your beneficiaries have to compete in a series of challenges to see who gets the biggest share of your estate.

  3. Appoint an executor: This is a serious responsibility, but that doesn't mean you can't have a little fun with it. Consider appointing someone with a sense of humour who can lighten the mood when things get tough.

  4. Consult with an attorney: Lawyers are notoriously serious, so try to find one with a sense of humour. They might be more willing to work with you if you can make them laugh!

  5. Write your will: This is where you can really let your personality shine. Include some funny anecdotes or inside jokes, and make sure to use plenty of puns. Just make sure everything is still clear and legally binding.

  6. Keep your will safe: You don't want your will to get lost or damaged, so consider hiding it somewhere unusual. Just don't forget where you put it!

  7. Review and update your will: This is a good opportunity to add some new jokes or update any outdated references. You could even write a message to your future self, reminding yourself of how funny you were back in the day.

Preparing your will can be a serious and sobering task, but don't be afraid to inject some humour into the process. It might even make the whole thing a bit more enjoyable. Just remember to keep things legal and binding, and don't let your sense of humour overshadow the important decisions you're making.
