Top 5 skills you need to survive in 2023

It's hard to say exactly what the top 5 skills to have in 2023 are, if the last year 2 years have taught us anything is a lot can change in just a few short months. However, based what we have learned from the COVID-19 pandemic, there are a few key skills that may be especially valuable in the coming years.

  1. Adaptability: The COVID-19 pandemic has shown us just how quickly the world can change, and the importance of being able to adapt to new situations and challenges. In the coming years, it will be crucial to have the ability to quickly and effectively adjust to new circumstances, whether they be personal or professional.

  2. Virtual communication: The pandemic has also highlighted the importance of being able to effectively communicate and collaborate with others online. This means having strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as being comfortable using video conferencing software and other digital tools.

  3. Problem-solving: The challenges of the past year have required people to think creatively and come up with solutions to complex problems. In the coming years, being able to identify and solve problems will be a valuable skill in just about any field.

  4. Resilience: The pandemic has been a difficult and stressful time for many people, and those who have been able to bounce back from setbacks and continue to move forward will likely be in high demand. Building resilience – the ability to recover from difficult situations – will be a key skill to cultivate.

  5. Emotional intelligence: The pandemic has also brought to the forefront the importance of understanding and managing one's own emotions, as well as those of others. Emotional intelligence – the ability to recognize and understand emotions, and use that understanding to manage one's own behavior and relationships – will be an increasingly valuable skill in the coming years.

Overall, it's hard to predict exactly what the future will hold, but the skills listed above – adaptability, virtual communication, problem-solving, resilience, and emotional intelligence – are likely to be in high demand no matter what challenges the world may face. By cultivating these skills, you will be well-prepared to navigate whatever the future may bring.
